Most Addicting Game on Earth: World of Warcraft

Published by beamer at 1:48 am under Video Game Bashing, Video games Edit This

World of Warcraft, often referred to as WoW, is a massive multi-player online role playing game (MMORPG). It is Blizzard Entertainment’s fourth released game set in the fantasy Warcraft Universe, which was first introduced by Warcraft: Orcs & Humans  in 1994( I have had the pleasure of owning and playing). World of Warcraft takes place within the world of Azeroth, four years after the events at the conclusion of Blizzard’s previous release, Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. Blizzard Entertainment announced World of Warcraft on September 2, 2001. Three years of developing went into this game to make it as awesome and addicting as possible. The game was released on November 23, 2004, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise.

In the game, you play as the character that you choose, you can upgrade and acquire new skills. As characters become more developed, they gain talents, requiring the player to further define the abilities of that character. Professions such as tailoring, blacksmithing, mining, cooking and first aid can also be learned by characters. The game is centered around “questing” or doing quests in the game, all of these factors add to the addictiveness of the game, allowing a person to leave this reality and live in another for a period of time. The Game is never ending, allowing the person to be the only reason for the gameplay to end(some people haven’t the willpower).

Hey, I was addicted to World of Warcraft for two and a half years, and as much fun as that game is, it can completely ruin your life. Nice anti-WoW paraphernalia.
